He probably feels that he is of that community and that his faults makes him better than some educated joe to solve the problems of his constituents. But look Barry, you tried and failed. There always seems to be a double standard... we have leaders of the house and congress who have been dianosed as having an addiction to Cocaine and other addictive substances both being white.... their recorse was not to loose their seats or political standing or even be prosecuted and sent to prison... their recorse was to receive drug treatment... Now my self I have always noticed the want of the media to report a blind veiw of black leaders as if they are not human and when found human they are then concidered the next extreme criminal..... Now being a Washingtonian under May, Barry for the Majority of my life I have seen all the good he has done for the Chocolate City and the way he caused youth to prosper and grow with all sorts of programs... He has fought to gain fed. money in the failure of the entire country to even rec. DC is not a state does not receive FED monies On a agenda.. All the fed centers here exist tax free, diff from other states.. they don't pay rent or anything to the people of wash. yet they use the police, the fire dep. the resources and many other benifits of being in the cap city... Then they wondered why there was a cash deficet.... blaming it on out most honorable Mayor... So Mayor Bayor would be the Mayor again here if he ran different from Anthony Thomas Oooops did I say that... I only regret that he is only running for a council seat.... He'll win by a landslide.. Although under present goverment DC is being whitened we are still a majority... From far away though, I find that smoking crack with a girlfriend visiting from California (isn't he married?) is not the vision I want for my leader. Even though, as a black person, I know it was a setup. I also know that the setup worked because it wasn't the first time. Wouldn't vote for him nor the white congressmen with cocaine problems. We have a Hispanic mayor where I live. He got caught having an affair with a twenty-five year old campaign worker after being married to the same woman for forty years. Didn't vote for him again either. This has nothing to do with color for me. This has to do with morals. I understand that people make mistakes. I just think that there are consequences for your mistakes. And, one consequence that I control is I do not vote for people whose moral mistakes come to light. Whatever he does in the privacy of his home or in the privacy of a hotel room, that's his business or his perrogative. Mayor barry has a long career of success representing the population of the district of Columbia... He was not put in office because he was black or a Tom.... mayor Pratt lasted for one term duhhh I wonder why Mayor Williams may last for more than a term if another black man of Barry's Caliber does not step to plate... Mayor Sharon Pratt was not for the people of DC and Anthony Williams is a tool for the Whitening of DC .... I have had the opportunity to meet Barry not as a supporter or even a voter several times even when I was a kid he was never too proud to give a handshake and a HI.... learning of his city first hand... M Pratt never saw her in the neighborhoods or gatherings which reflected in her policies she was not a voice of the people.... Anthony Williams comes to the neighborhood gatherings but does not listen.. his agenda stays his agenda and passing within 2 feet of this mayor 5 times in the past few years he has yet to say HI or acknowledge a citizen not in the political arena... I Hope for more men like Barry to lead not only the Cap City but different black communities throughout this nation..... Addictions can be beat whether natural or unnatural... AND the happenings within the household should stay in the household.... Hell our commander and cheif had a DWI or was it DUI anybody kick him out of office.... But Oh I forgot the limo driver does all the driving now... whoops...... Last point the very design of DC is based on African culture from the placement and designs of the streets to the actual shapes of many of it's monuments....
