(Buzz) Actually, President Barack Obama is doing pretty well! The economy is growing at a brisk pace; college students can get affordable student loans, we are getting close to having a comprehensive nuclear treaty, and we have a fresh new health care bill that will help people across the land. There is even currency negotiations going on between the USA and China about the needed re-evaluation of the Yuan!
But there is a problem. Barack Obama, the first Black president of the United States of America has fallen into the reality of American racism. That racism has been part of the landscape since 1619 and continues to this day. Because of racism the polls reflect biased opinion and not stated fact. Indeed, the GOP and others started the racism trend during the presidential elections of 2008 and have not let up yet, and probably never will. Instead, every success Obama has will be a failure and every failure Obama has will also be a failure. This is a sure sign of jealousy on the part of the republicans that did not have a candidate capable of challenging the then first term Senator from Illinois.
But it is folly for the GOP and Republicans to keep on bashing Obama. Why? Well it shows that they are only attacking him because he is Black. For instance, when the health bill passed, the GOP did not mention that it was based solely on a previously okayed Republican proposition. If Mitch McConnell had pushed the bill, the health bill would have been applauded. Thus the bill was good; it was the 'who' passed the bill that is objectionable to the followers of the Tea Partiers and GOP.
Then there is the Russian lady, Orliz Taitz. She grew up in communist USSR and was indoctrinated with Leninism and Marxism and the media gave her center stage with her accusations that the president was supposedly a Kenyan, no Indonesian, no Hawaiian (for those that said that Hawaii was not a real state). Thus allowance of so many lies has attributed to the perception that Obama isn't doing well. Take note that the media has done this before in the opposite direction with former GWB Jr. Every lie told by GWB and crew was allowed to be re-explained by the pundits. The media then took the GOP-led pundits, powered by Fox News, as the gospel.
Thus, as you can see, the media is capable of playing on both sides of the coin. Obama is a good guy and so he must be taken down by the media; while Bush is a bad guy so he had to be pushed up by the media.

Sorry to disagree with you but you apparently have not read the recent polls. The Democrats including Obama are slipping in the polls. This is not to say that other presidents have not had ups and downs while in office but this is just after Obama got the Health Care legislation passed.
People are still fuming over TARP. Nobody can say exactly where all the money went including the administrator who is handling the dispersement of funds. That is pitiful. Talk about corruption. The financial services industries still have their lobbyists in Washington stonewalling any type of serious bills from being passed that would stop foreclosure so people are still getting foreclosed on right and left.
Obama got a lot of his votes from people who were in dire straights. If these people have no address the next time he is up for election he may come up short. This is especially true in the Black community.

Our staff loves the progress he is making. Whether he is a 1 term or 2 term president is okay with us, we just want him to keep on doing the job he is doing.
My take is that Obama is going to continue to do the hard work we want him to do (Health Bill, GI Bill, Wall Street/Banking Reform, College Grant/Loan Improvement, etc) and let the chips fall where they may.
And during the election folks like ourselves will max ourselves out supporting his campaign. We are just watching the waves and waves make decisions early in the game, but when the game is fouled up by the stink of true racism and transposition of faults from one to another (remember, former President Bush passed the TARP) then I think that the crew here will keep watching and go along for the ride.
Should be interesting, wouldn't you say?

askWHY. Completely wrong. Completely fabricated. A complete and deliberate lie. Folks outside of the Chicago and Southern Illinois never heard of Obama until 2004.
His pathway to the presidency was an awkward one too. There is no way that he was pre-ordained to be president.
quote: askWHY. Completely wrong. Completely fabricated. A complete and deliberate lie.
Um, why is AskWhy completely wrong? Why is what he wrote completely fabricated? Why is this a complete and deliberate lie?
AskWhy didn't lie about President Obama's love for President Ronald Reagan; this is a known fact.
He stated an opinion about US funding for Israel that many others have expressed throughout the years on BWP, in newspapers and on television. Come on now, it's a known fact that some folks have been asking for decreased funding to Israel for over 30 years. Therefore, where is the deliberate lie and/or fabrication in his statement?
Two members of your board have already disagreed with you on this thread with one being an Obama supporter. Does this mean that anyone else that disagrees with you will be called a liar and wrong? If so, then prove them wrong to the fullest based on the statements they have written and not just on your emotions.
You sound just like a Tea Party supporter trying to shut down anyone that disagrees with you.
Btw, David Axelrod is a master with advertising and marketing. He's also worked on many campaigns, especially Harold Washington and John Edwards. And to get even deeper, Michelle Robinson's family was connected with the Daley Machine and other powerful officials in Chicago.
Oh yes, you started something, but can you really support what you've written?
Carry on.

BWP Staff,
You are certainly correct!
These folks out here talking about his lack of a "Black agenda" is something I don't understand at all. I have to agree with my friend when she asks exactly what is a “Black agenda?!” A promise of chitlins in every pot?! LOL~
While battling unthinkable racist attacks at every move he makes, Obama is pursuing an “American agenda” that is benefiting everybody, including Whites who hate him because he’s Black and Blacks who hate him because he’s not Black enough. In the 16 months Obama has been in office, his administration has provided more benefits to Blacks since the posting of the Emancipation Proclamation, especially in the area of education.
The Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, which Obama signed last month, is a boon for financially strapped college students of all colors in this country, and it specifically supports African-Americans’ success in higher education. The act significantly increases Pell Grants, extending that educational financial aid program to everybody from year 2013 to 2017, including to approximately 200,000 more African-American students by the 2020 academic year. The act revises and expands the income-based student loan program between 2014 and 2020 to 1.2 million borrowers, of which 222,000 are expected to be African-Americans.
In addition, the act increases support for Minority Serving Institutions so they can handle the challenges of shrinking endowments, decreasing state appropriations, deteriorating facilities and increasing costs. Toward that end, the act provides $850 million for Historically Black Colleges and Universities and $150 million for Predominantly Black Institutions in mandatory funding over the next 10 years.
We need to get off our tails, start to THINK strategically, individually as well as "groups" and find ways to secure ourselves for the future. There is no better time to do that than right now! Crying about whom did this to whom and what "some one" needs to do is not worth a dime! What are YOU going to do?
We need to stop crying constantly about what you don't have and what the Government won't give you. Government is not going to take care of you! Have they ever done so? Why expect that now? The other side of that is USE what the Government does offer to your advantage and stop sitting around complaining.
Take advantage of what is being offered like those that come here (yes you can do it too) from foreign lands do. Educate yourself. Repair or build good credit. You can't have bad credit, don't pay your bills and expect someone to give you their money/loan! Start small businesses and employ those in the community. Think in terms of not only how you can advance but how you can bring others in the community along with you!
Year after year on this very site the same folks say the same things but never anything about advancement! I mean does anything ever change? This is not to say that Americans should not question or expect certain things (as citizens) from our government.
What is that about?
Folks need to understand that our President is a President for all the people. I never once heard him make any specific promises just to Black folk, nor should he have done so. And I can't imagine why any Black person would think that he was going to lead them to the promise land!!
If that is what some folks are waiting for I can tell you it ain't gonna happen~
PEACE

Are there any California people on this forum?
I was working as a Supervisor in a Community College earning $35 an hour before our wonderful "NEW" president got into office.
My school has since cut half of it's classes and the only thing left is the Nursing program. My school is the second highest Nursing program in the nation.
We my last day working for the college was back in December 2009. Now I a contracted worker and consultant for Fortune 500 company in the hospitality business. I do the hiring for West Coast region and since the beginning of 2010 I have hired 45 Nurse graduates to answer phone because hospital in California have put a freeze on hiring.
When will California get "BAILED OUT"? Our tuition is at a whopping 33% increase. The best Colleges and Universities are not accepting application for new students. In some areas, the Special Needs school services are being cut due to budget issues. Some schools are stopping their busing programs because of our budget crisis.
As much as love my BEAUTIFUL black people and desire to have a great president. This fine gentleman we have in office isn't on our team (OUR Team - Blue Collar, low-middle class, 9am-5pm, home buyers)...
YOU CAN NOT GET OUT OF DEBT BY CREATING MORE DEBT.. You can't use one credit card to pay off another..
ALSO: When I said Mr. Obama was selected I was referring to the The Electoral College Members. And anyone that knows the election (selection) process, knows that the The Electoral College Member puts the president in office.
One other thing: Can someone break it down about the PAY-GO principle.. For every dollar being spent, a dollar should be saved??? How is that getting AMERICA out of debt? Wouldn't that be more like balancing the budget?
HELLO - HELLO
He said if we SPEND a Trillion dollars (BANK BAIL-OUTS) then we must CUT a Trillion dollars (Special Needs Children, Elderly, Homeless, Middle Class Home Owners, Farmers, etc..).. Just to stay balanced.

disinformation tactics... 1) Make outrageous comments designed to distract or frustrate: An Alinsky tactic used to make people emotional, although less effective because of the impersonal nature of the web.
2) Pose as a supporter of the truth, then make comments that discredit the movement: We have seen this even on our own forums — trolls pose as supporters of the Liberty Movement, then post long, incoherent diatribes so as to appear either racist or insane. Here is a live example of this tactic in use on Yahoo! Answers.
The key to this tactic is to make references to common Liberty Movement arguments while at the same time babbling nonsense, so as to make those otherwise valid arguments seem ludicrous by association.
In extreme cases, these “Trojan Horse Trolls” have been known to make posts which incite violence — a technique obviously intended to solidify the false assertions of the notorious MIAC report and other ADL/SPLC publications which purport that constitutionalists should be feared as potential domestic terrorists.
3) Dominate Discussions: Trolls often interject themselves into productive web discussions in order to throw them off course and frustrate the people involved.
4) Prewritten Responses: Many trolls are supplied with a list or database with pre-planned talking points designed as generalized and deceptive responses to honest arguments. 9/11 “debunker” trolls are notorious for this.
5) False Association: This works hand in hand with item #2, by invoking the stereotypes established by the “Trojan Horse Troll.”
For example: calling those against the Federal Reserve “conspiracy theorists” or “lunatics”. Deliberately associating anti-globalist movements with big foot or alien enthusiasts, because of the inherent negative connotations. Using false associations to provoke biases and dissuade people from examining the evidence objectively.
6) False Moderation: Pretending to be the “voice of reason” in an argument with obvious and defined sides in an attempt to move people away from what is clearly true into a “grey area” where the truth becomes “relative.”
7) Straw Man Arguments: A very common technique. The troll will accuse his opposition of subscribing to a certain point of view, even if he does not, and then attacks that point of view. Or, the troll will put words in the mouth of his opposition, and then rebut those specific words. For example: “9/11 truthers say that no planes hit the WTC towers, and that it was all just computer animation. What are they, crazy?”

Let me start by saying that I worked in Obamas campaign and he was certainly the better of the two candidates. McCain didn't do himself any favors by picking a bimbo for a running mate. I always thought McCain was a Sugar Daddy and he proved it. Sarah Palin is making money hands over fist by inciting dissafected whites against Obama. She does not tell the truth. She just makes a case that is good enough to get by and they pay to hear her speak and buy her books. Nobody would have heard of her had it not been for her Sugar Daddy John McCain.
Back on point. To really straighten out this mess it will take more than one term in the White House. Obama has to know this. He is going to loose seats in the next big election. Newt Gingrich and the other big shot Republicans are vowing to repeal all of the so called 'socialist' programs that Obama is setting up.
The financial services industry is stonewalling any real progress about foreclosure legislation. Their lobbyist are working 24/7 influence peddling in Washington. Obama vowed to end this kind of back room politics. It hasnt happened. As long as this kind of skullduggery we can look to see more hideous scandals that have already taken their toll on the average American.
Yes there is a Black agenda. Black people voted for Obama in mass. Traditionallyl a person who has a strong constituency looks out for that constituency. You dont take them for granted. That is an insult to their intelligence. In case you all have not noticed the unemployment rate in the Black community is horribly high. In some parts of Los Angeles the Black community unemployment rate is over 70%! How can you sustain any kind of family envirornment with a situation like that. The bank loan policies have gotten much tougher. Obama is president for all of the people. He should remember this. His hope to die support of Israel along with all the other politicians is ridiculous.
He wants all these countries to disarm themselves and basically become a ward of the United States in terms of defense. This country and its citizens are already being stretched beyond capacity because of the choke hold placed on it by the military industrial complex. The multi billion dollar contracts to build fighter planes when people are sleeping in the streets is assinine. Who are these fighter planes gonna fight anyway. The boarders are open. We cant stop drugs from coming into the country and its taboo to say anything against Israel. This is ridiculous. The Black community is a long suffering community. They deserve more than tough love speechs. Many people who voted for Obama were on their last economic legs. Some have since lost their homes. The republicans knowing that the the foreclosure crisis has devestated the Black community will be on the look out for this when the election comes around. Time for Obama to get busy and handle business fairly and not be concerned so much about how he is percieved. Like I said Michelle should put on her high heeled sneakers and her red dress and go into congress and use those muscles they are always talking about in the media and start breaking some jaws. Then maybe these people will respect her husband.
This financial industry debacle has to be broken up. They are up to the same thing again and its just a matter of time before they have to be bailed out again. They found some ready made victims in the Black community and other communities and got them into these hideous mortgages. 80% of all mortgage fraud is initiated by the loaner not the loanee. They are predicting over 1 MILLION foreclosures this year. The banks will buy them back at little and then overcharge somebody else to pay for them. Its almost like a crooked car salesman selling the same car over and over after the owners cant pay for it and its reposessed. Obama needs to deal with the Black community like he would any other of his loyal constituency the Black community. Not to so is taking them for granted. This is not the smart move. Obama is smart he should make the smart move.

The key to understanding what is happening to California is to understand what was the cause of the current in-debtness in the first place. If I am right, California has a Republican leader in charge of the 40,000,000 citizens in that state and thus, this Governator has responsibility for the citizens over the 2 terms he has been in.
We ALL know California was being seriously mismanaged before anyone even heard of Barack Obama. Remember the Cally energy crisis?
But a bail out? By now we all know, every state, every business, every person cannot be bailed out. That is most likely why the institutions that handled the nations (world's) money were fixed (horribly by the Bush TARP move). Is there still a lot to do? Lots! More would have been done but the Racism/Tea Party/Misrepresentation engine is hindering handling the problem directly. Everything is handled in this macrocosm of race, tea party, and acceptance of the nutty politician (Palin, Bachmann, etc.) and thus progress on every front has been stalled.
For example all of the bills the house has passed and the senate hasn't.

Healthcare reform was the first big policy deal taken on by the Obama administration. Many say the president has bet the mid-term elections, possibly his presidency, on the outcome. In a new investigation, FRONTLINE goes behind closed doors at the White House, in Congress and the boardrooms of the giant healthcare lobby to examine the political battles and costly compromises that defined Barack Obama’s endeavor. From early positive efforts, through the bitter battles with the Tea Party, the elation of apparent success at Christmas, to the crushing failure in the Massachusetts’ Senatorial election, FRONTLINE follows the story and reveals the first in-depth look at how the Obama administration operates. In “Obama’s Deal,” FRONTLINE veteran producer Michael Kirk (“Bush’s War,” “Dreams of Obama,” “Inside the Meltdown,” “The Warning”) provides a sobering exposé of the realities of American politics, the power of special interest groups and the role of money in policy making.

The problem with California started with the crooked deals made with Bush and his ENRON buddies about obtaining energy from the Texas mafia. This was retaliation against California for abandoning the Republican party. The Federal government is responsible for the boarders. Illegal immigration and drug smuggling has continued unabated across the California Mexican boarder for decades. We see the results in our cities and across the country.
Gov. Musclehead should be taking ESL classes instead of trying to run a state of any size. He took too many steroids and smoked to much dope when he was hanging out on Venice Beach with the late Stanley 'Big Tookie' Williams. No way he should have gotten elected. He merely double crossed some of his Republican buddies and capitalized on his name. What a flat tire.
The Black communities in California reflect other Black communities across America. If TARP money is going to be distributed then the least should be helped first. This is not being done. Helping those who already have jobs and giving the utilities money to keep going is doing nothing for the average Black person. They are the least they should get help first. Thats being biblical. I cant make it any simpler. Taking care of this and that special interest group because they can afford lobbyist and mouth pieces is what has this country in the shape its in.
This much change. If it does not the Republicans may very well get their wish and what short term gains made by Obama will be lost. Jimmy Carter was elected and he killed the B-1 Bomber program. Ronald Reagan got elected four years later and reinstated the program overnight. Billions of dollars that went to the defense industry could have gone into the community. It would not take long for the Republicans to reverse any changes that Obama does make. He needs atleast two terms and then beyond to straighten out this mess. The judicial sector is still a closed deal. So Black folks should demand to be treated as loyal constituents is not ridiculous. We supported the man. Black folks voted for Obama in mass more than any other group. This is very important in any politicians hand book. He should note that. When we see politicians pandering to Gays, illegals, foreigners who come here to this country with agendas demanding the U.S. support age old struggles in their native countries and getting an attitude about it when Obama does not; for him to ignore or brush aside his most loyal constituents is not very wise as a politician.

Da, Enron is long gone and it will take several miracles to straighten that schit out. As for the immigration problem, all the US Gummitt have to do is to withhold all Foreign Aid monies to all foreign countries that allow their citizens who come here illegally and bankrupt our states, i.e. California, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Austrailia, Belgium, etc. I know Australia and Belgium are countries, but they're complaining about the illegal mexicans too.
Let's see how fast these countries straighten up and fly right.

grassroot, wrong. Obama has a lot to do on many fronts. First off all he needs to work that Yuan/Dollar issue with President Jintao of China. He should not let China keep their monetary system so low that we cannot sell our goods abroad. If we levy heavy tariffs on Chinese goods I believe they will get the message.
The Banking situation - This job is long overdue. Geithner did not really pan out and Volcker needs to take over; even Eliot Spitzer would do ... but to take on the banks needs a tougher person. Geithner is not the person.
But we like his progress in some areas.
Plus we like how he can speak for himself. For 8 years Bush spoke and the republican pundits translated!! It was hilarious! A leader that could hardly get a single sentence out without interpretation. It was almost like Bush was speaking Hindi!

hi cleodine, didn't want to miss responding to you. (we) were replying to the CHOSEN one question. Obama is 48 years old. Most folks heard about him in 2004 when he was 42. Not exactly the chosen one.
On the Ronald Reagan tip. Sure, folks can parse someone's quotes, policies, history and find some good points.
And no, we are not trying to shut anyone down, but we know that certain untruths have been allowed to be propagate unabated and we do not support that sort of forum. Thus, if we find someone saying Obama is Socialist, Communist, Facist, Racist, Re distributor, Elitist, etc., we say prove it. However, One person cannot be all.
Fact, McCain said Obama was an elitist. Obama made millions in 2006 off of his books. Before then, he was just a middle class man in politics with talent and potential. McCain on the other hand has 8 homes, access to Lear Jets and has a wife who has over $150,000,000 dollars.
But McCain called Obama an elitist. $100,000,000 Dick Cheney did too. Oh, so did $150,000,000 George Bush Junior. Rumsfeld hid out, but he owns several square miles in Wyoming and has a stash of $50,000,000.
No cleodine we do not want to squash anyone but we watched lies and innuendos spin as truth for years now. We are simply aware of the technique and have relaunched in this new format to continuously point this out.

yes Obama is an up and comer into the world of multi national politics. That was part of his appeal. He was not seen as one of the insiders and atleast he is partially Black.
This is where the disappointment and disenchantment stems from. You dont think for one second a Jewish President would get into the White House and put Israel or jewish issues on the back burner do you? The other jews would berate him right out of the White House.
Black folks after all these long suffering centuries are still in no position to take anything for granted. Obama meant change and hope for many in the Black community. If the disenchantment gets to bad the Democrats may not only loose the White House and some seats in Congress but they loose the Black vote period.
I say the man should get his priorities in order. Take care of your voters. Sure he is looking out for those who put money behind him but to neglect the Black community with little more than tough love speechs and some money to the historical Black colleges is not enough. Billions of our dollars are leaving these shores and to many are going without. It can be stopped. People think Obama is the man to do it. Therefore he should act accordingly. He is the President.

No one is perfect and if you think that someone should be, look behind you, no wait, pillar of salt.
No, we are not blinded by the light we just know that if you were working a job with the same pressures as Barack you would probably be in pieces now. With all the hell coming his way just because he is Black you can tell the man is made of stern stuff.
I have seen Black executives in Sr. Management positions fall on the deep edge when they could not some of their objectives to fly. We have seen the mayor of Baltimore fall; We have seen mayor Willie with child outside of his marriage; we have seen mayor Sharpe James in jail; And lets not talk about Kwame.
