I will give credit where credit is due and the fact that the GOP thought the cameras would benefit them is laughable. Without the cameras it would have been a he say, they say. Now we have the video and the GOP are regretting it. Well, its about time they started getting the exposure they so badly wanted. And they tried to lie even on camera..no surprise though!!
What in the hell is this dumb lamb drinking the Kook-aid stuff heartbone. Man, I stay away for awhile and you're still doing the same demented shit! What gives man? Are you a white confederate or something? Are you some Black man that hates himself? Are you some dickless eunuch or something? You are a sad dude man.
President Obama DID put a beat down on the GOP and they admitted it. If the folks getting the beat down admitted it how can you logically say that someone is drinking kool-aid.
Heartbone, you're just a demented sick dude.

Good luck with that one. Roy has repeatedly demonstrated that he is NOT grounded in reality.
Maybe you cleodine, or someone like sl8 would have a better chance explaining (in a special education way for cowboy there) how those who identify with either Republicrat side are drinking, cause I can't be bothered.

So far, this is the most balanced report I've read. However, my eyes and ears tell me something different.
President Obama used the retreat to show his MIGHT. However, His BARK is bigger than his BITE! Btw, nothing CHANGED! _________________________________________________
Obama and House Republicans slam each other at retreat By William Douglas Mcclatchy Newspapers Fri Jan 29, 6:09 pm ET
BALTIMORE — In a session that was intended to foster bipartisanship with Republicans in the House of Representatives , President Barack Obama blasted them Friday for distorting his health care plan to the point that "you'd think that this thing was some Bolshevik plot."
"I'm not suggesting we're going to agree on everything, whether it's on health care or energy," Obama said. "But if the way these issues are being presented by the Republicans is that this is some wild-eyed plot to impose huge government in every aspect of our lives, what happens is you guys then don't have a lot of room to negotiate with me."
The president's blunt remarks were part of an unusual give-and-take question-and-answer session after remarks he made at the House Republicans' retreat in Baltimore
Before the session, the White House and House Republicans promised that Obama's visit would produce a frank dialogue and, hopefully, usher in a more civil, bipartisan tone, which largely has been largely absent in the past year's debates, ranging from health care to climate change to the economy.
Instead, the one-hour, 45-minute dialogue seemed to produce olive branches adorned by a few prickly thorns and to showcase just how wide and deep the divide is between the administration and other Democrats and the Republicans in Congress .
"There were different views of facts and figures," said Rep. Lamar Smith , R- Texas . "But I think we had facts on our side and he (Obama) was a little on the defensive."
Rep. Trent Franks , R- Ariz. , said that Obama's talk showed that the president had a "willingness to dismiss reality."
"He's willing to hold himself unconstrained by the truth," Franks said.
Obama began the session warmly and joked about attending the retreat because of a need to "keep your friends close, but visit the Republican caucus every few months."
He grew stern and testy at times, however, as he refuted some of the details lawmakers cited in their questions about health care, the economic stimulus and the federal debt.
On health care, Obama said that some of the provisions in the Democratic bill had been embraced by a bipartisan group that included former Senate Majority Leaders Bob Dole , R- Kan. , Tom Daschle , D- N.D. , and Howard Baker , R- Tenn.
"That's not a radical bunch," the president said. "But if you were to listen to the debate and, frankly, how some of you went after this bill, you'd think that this thing was some Bolshevik plot."
Obama elicited snickers from Republicans in the hotel ballroom when he proclaimed, "I am not an ideologue."
The president acknowledged problems in the crafting of the health care bill, calling it a "messy process."
Republicans got a little testy, too.
Rep. Mike Pence , R- Ind. , the House Republican Conference chairman, told Obama that the president had been too "busy ignoring for 12 months" ideas from Republican lawmakers.
Obama challenged a question from Rep. Tom Price , R- Ga. , who asked what GOP lawmakers should tell their constituents who know that Republicans have offered positive solutions on health care, along with Price's assertion that the Republicans' health care plan would cover almost all Americans without raising taxes.
"That's just not true," the president said.
He swatted down a question from Rep. Jason Chaffetz , R- Utah , who expressed disappointment that Obama hasn't sufficiently followed through on a campaign promise to battle congressional earmarks.
"Now the challenge, I guess, I would have for you as a freshman is, what are you doing inside your caucus to make sure I'm not the only guy who's responsible for this stuff," Obama said, calling earmark abuse a bipartisan problem, "so that we're working together?"
Obama arrived in Baltimore buoyed by new data showing that the U.S. economy grew at a better-than-expected 5.7 percent in the final three months of 2009, the fastest pace in more than six years. Friday's report followed a 2.2 percent growth rate in the third quarter, an indication that the country is out of the recession but not necessarily out of the economic woods.
House GOP leaders, who've called the stimulus package and the federal bailout of banks and American automakers failed Democratic policies, shrugged off Friday's report, saying it means nothing to Americans are struggling to find work.
"Republicans have been asking again and again, 'Where are the jobs?' " Pence said. "Reporting on Wall Street , it seems to me, makes great news. I'm glad to see my kid's college fund has come back from a year ago, that's fine; GDP numbers are welcome."
Pence noted that the nation's unemployment rate — 10 percent — has risen on Obama's watch.
The president suggested that House Republicans join him in creating more jobs by supporting a retooled White House plan that would give small businesses a $5,000 tax credit for every net new employee who's hired this calendar year. While large companies also could take the benefit, credits would be capped at $500,000 .
The proposal carries a $33 billion price tag. Republican leaders called the proposal a non-starter, even before Obama showed up.
"The American people know what's necessary to get this economy moving, and that's essentially to do what Ronald Reagan did, and that is across-the-board tax relief for working families, small business and family farms," Pence said. "We need bigger ideas to deal with the heartbreaking reality of this recession."

They were taken aback with this man (who was asking them to move beyond partisanship) and work together towards solutions, and when he got through it made them appear weak and simple looking.
The way some looked at him (know some wanted to kill him ), they were simply in awe! Most of their issues/positions are weak, most know that they are weak or realized that fact while Mr. Obama was kicking their butts with intelligence!
Our smart, wise and intelligent President (a BLACK man) put them in their place with class, wisdom, and as smoothly as anyone could. They did not know what hit them and was left perplexed LOL!
The lone BLACK man in the room (that I saw) and he was kicking butt!
Why, they just didn't know what to make of that darkie! LOL!
I LOVED IT!!!

No cleodine, the session was significant and a strong lessons learn by the GOP.
quote: The best indication that Republicans realized Obama had helped himself came late Friday. Initial reactions to the president by GOP House leaders had been generally civil. Then in the early evening, Boehner's office issued a release with the headline: "Rhetoric versus reality: President Obama repeats discredited talking points during dialogue with House GOP."
Cleodine, the article submitted as fair and balance had open ended statements that resemble opinions for GOP folks and nothing more. For instance, lie number one:
Lie #1: Rep. Lamar Smith , R- Texas
"There were different views of facts and figures," said Rep. Lamar Smith , R- Texas . "But I think we had facts on our side and he (Obama) was a little on the defensive."
TRUTH: But Lamar Smith was off, way off. The 19 page health plan submitted by the GOP was full of statements of what they wanted the end game of a health plan to be … however, it had no process and no accounting of how to do it or how much it would cost. Put, Jeb pretty much lied about the debt.
Lie #2: Rep Trent Franks, R-Ariz
"He's willing to hold himself unconstrained by the truth," Franks said.
TRUTH: But the truth were that there was no substantive health bill presented by the republicans, many republicans voted down the body scanning machines that could have been used to find the underwear bomber, the war as off the books, etc.
A FACT FROM THIS ARTICLE: Obama arrived in Baltimore buoyed by new data showing that the U.S. economy grew at a better-than-expected 5.7 percent in the final three months of 2009, the fastest pace in more than six years. Friday's report followed a 2.2 percent growth rate in the third quarter, an indication that the country is out of the recession but not necessarily out of the economic woods.

A Christian Science Monitor article by a Brad Knickerbocker, does a bit more justice than the fluff article used state a fair and balanced opinion of the discussion:
The Title: Obama in the Republican lions’ den: Obama 2, lions 1
The Blurb: President Obama had a pointed and entertaining exchange with House Republicans. The event worked to his advantage, but the GOP scored important points too. Everybody benefits from this kind of unscripted public debate.
President Obama walked into the lions’ den Friday and came out with limbs still in place. In fact, to many who watched the spectacle, the lions were left sulking and hungry.
This was the GOP House Issues Conference in Baltimore, to which Obama had been invited as a guest speaker. And to those who watched, it was high political drama – very much like the weekly “Questions to the Prime Minister” sessions in the British House of Commons, an energetic and entertaining debate on policy matters that is unscripted, unrehearsed, and there for all the world to watch on live TV.
As the Monitor’s Dave Cook reported, the interchange was lively, civil, and substantive.
Questions were asked respectfully (for the most part), although some questioners took long minutes of speechifying to get there. As in the House of Commons, the questions were blunt and sometimes pointed. But Obama came right back at them, citing chapter and verse from legislation and nonpartisan government reports, appearing to be at his wonkish best.
“I’m having fun,” he said at one point.
Pitch for bipartisanship
As he has from the beginning, Obama made his pitch for working across party lines. But he chided the Republican lawmakers for making that difficult if not impossible.
“What happens is that you guys don’t have a lot of room to negotiate with me,” Obama said. “The fact of the matter is, many of you, if you voted with the administration on something, are politically vulnerable in your own base, in your own party . . . because what you’ve been telling your constituents is, ‘This guy’s doing all kinds of crazy stuff that’s going to destroy America.’ “
“The whole thing basically went like [this],” Mike Madden wrote at Salon. “Republican asks obnoxious question rooted in Glenn Beck-ian talking points; Obama swats it away, makes the questioner look silly, and then smiles at the end. It got so bad, in fact, that Fox News cut away from the event before it was over.”
Education is a tool. Use it.

RoyRogers, it was a GOP event, right?
quote: TRUTH: But Lamar Smith was off, way off. Also, if you're going to quote from a document, at least post the document for all to read. And still, the DEMOCRATS couldn't pass the HEALTH BILL even though it has the majority.
Don't blame the republicans for the bullcrap and bickering the democrats presented.
And please, post the Christiam Science Monitor article for all to read to make an informed opinion. Thank you.

But cleodine, just because it was a GOP events doesn't mean that the GOP have to lie about what was spoken.
The document. I do not have the pamphlet in front of me, but I will try to find it for you. But the bulleted and nebulous health plan has been well known for months.
The democrats could not pass the health bill since some of the players were not accustomed to playing team ball. Next time the health game comes afoot the dems will automatically go toward reconciliation and will with a simple 51-49 majority .. you know, like the unfunded $500 Medicare expansion bill that Bush and the GOP pass via reconciliation.
quote: But cleodine, just because it was a GOP events doesn't mean that the GOP have to lie about what was spoken.
RoyRogers, I don't care if it was a gOP event or a Dem event...both parties lie. Therefore, if O know both parties lie, then I look beyond the surface to find the grit.
quote: But the bulleted and nebulous health plan has been well known for months.
Even President Obama admitted there were mistakes and that he himself didn't do a good job communicating points of the Health Bill.
quote: The democrats could not pass the health bill since some of the players were not accustomed to playing team ball.
RoyRogers, I know this and the whole world knows this. Therefore, why condemn the other party for not playing "teamball" when those wothin the President's party haven't LEARNED THE LESSON?
quote: Plus if you wanted the article, you could always Google and get it yourself.
Please don't be rude. If your going to reference something, please have the AUDACITY to post it so that there won't be confusion. It is not my job to look for something to prove your point.
RoyRogers, I'm not here to argue with you; I just want to understand. And if you must be TART in your replies to me, then why bother? Why can't we have a conversation without you getting upset when it comes to President Obama?

on the part of the CSM article, touche' But the harsh lesson title is true. Fox did pull away from the session when they felt the GOP house members were losing. Several GOP members did say they felt their old high school principal was lecturing them, but felt that he (Obama) was also listening to them.
But here is another article that illuminates the feelings of the Republicans and their direct encounter with Barack Obama:
quote: Late Thursday night, just hours before Obama’s appearance, an Obama staffer called Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-Ind.) with a request: Would the GOP leadership mind if the press was allowed to remain during the Q & A?
Sources say that Republicans immediately realized the perils of giving Obama such a platform but had little choice but to say yes.
After all, they have been hammering him for failing to televise all health reform negotiations. Obama admitted Friday that it was a mistake, adding, “I take responsibility.”
quote: After it was over, Obama posed for photos with many of the Republicans.
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Eric Cantor (R-Va.) immediately emphasized that they, like Obama, were open to compromise. But many of the Republicans in attendance were less conciliatory, accusing Obama of coming to their conference for the purpose of scoring political points — exactly the kind of cynical ploy he accused them of.
Why the phucking sheep with the kool-aid? Damn,oops..I forgot I did not get your permission..can I have my straw back now!!

A community organizer after coming out of an Ivy League university. The POTUS isn't motivated by wealth but by service. The training he had working in the streets of Chicago--bringing people together, pointing out a larger motive for change; fielding anger, hostility, and distrust--is what made him so successful in yesterday's Q&A with Repubs. There's no one in that camp with his skills, temperament, intellect, or saavy. A hundred years from now, the history books will not contain the names Boehner, Pence, Chaffetz, or Hensarling. Sarah Palin and John McCain will be asterisks. But they sure as hell will have in big bold letters "Barack H. Obama."
