Who is BWPStaff  She's always had her own set of fans: those that loved her, and those that thought her so called cool singing was just a bit left of an old western school marm. I was an in-betweener; some of her music was cool and much it lead to the fake falsetto craze that has cursed soul music for the last decade or so. (Buzz Link)

But that was music. But now soul singer Erykah Badu has touched a nerve in her home city of Dallas with a controversial new music video, which alludes to the JFK assassination and shows her completely in the nude. She shot the Window Seat video at Dealey Plaza, the site of the Kennedy assassination, , and in it she strips down and is then shot and instantly killed at the historic site. "The video is in poor taste and poor judgment, in my opinion," one resident told local newspaper, The Dallas Morning News. Badu says the video is "about liberating yourself."

She must be drinking draino! What if the site was the place where Martin Luther King or Medgar Evers was killed! What if she shot the video where Betty Shabazz was accidently killed by her nephew? Would she say it was liberating then? Probably not. The bottom line is that Badu has a bit of a problem and that problem is mental. Maybe she should fade back into the suburban home she just rose from?

Badu's opinion: The song 'Window Seat' is about liberating yourself from layers and layers of skin or demons that are a hindrance to your growth or freedom, or evolution. (and who knew Badu had such a big rump?) Buzz Link

Who is bevo  I agree 1,000,000,000%. I remember a conversation about Erkyah and her speech at the Million People March.

She was pretty much out of it. She reminded me of that crazy woman on the Jack in the Box commercial where she was complaining about her mental health and hot flashes.

Everybody is above the law until they get caught.

Who is askWHY  I understand the metaphoric symbolism of the video. Those that religious could never be on the higher plane of those that are spiritual because of FEAR and the lack of understanding the simple concept of Kymatica.

Who is BWPStaff  UPDATE: DALLAS – Neosoul singer Erykah Badu faces a disorderly conduct charge for her nude music video shoot in downtown Dallas' Dealey Plaza, officials announced Friday.

Badu, a Dallas native, performed a walking striptease in front of tourists and pedestrians during the March 13 shoot for Badu's "Window Seat" music video. The performance ended with a nude Badu acting out receiving a fatal gunshot to the head at the spot where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

Sgt. Warren Mitchell said Friday the decision to cite Badu for disorderly conduct — a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500 — came after witness Ida Espinosa, 32, of Vernon, offered a sworn statement to police Thursday. Espinosa declined to comment to The Associated Press on Friday.

"Having a fact witness that was there is what let us file the charges," Mitchell said. "After much discussion, we feel that these charges best fit her conduct. She disrobed in a public place without regard to individuals and small children who were close by."
