From the Buzz Zone: According to the NBA Players Association, 60% of former NBA players go broke after the checks stop rolling in. This fact has been peppered throughout the media as of late with the trials and tribulations of these one-time millionaires: Kenny Anderson, Antoine Walker, Latrell Sprewell, Derrick Coleman and Scottie Pippen. Each of the aforementioned players were dominant at one point, commanded double-teams and All-Star accolades, and were given long term contracts worth tens of millions of dollars. And, sadly, each of them is a black man who came from humble beginnings and has returned to those “roots” all too unceremoniously. This subject matter may be something to grin and smile about for some who are reading this article. But prior to the modern predominance of the phenomenon of the “Hateration Nation” in which we currently live … black athletes were looked up to, idolized and seen as something to aspire to. We looked to take some of their attributes and embed them in ourselves. We wanted to be tenacious; never quite play (or work) injured; show leadership skills and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Many Black athletes don't have any skills and/or not skilled at anything else other than the sport that they are good at. Also, they don't have a support system to deal with their money as many white athletes. In addition, after they stop being a show/clown for white American, they are just another Black man. Can't get a job just like many other Black men.

It means you bend over backward for hb and he bend over backward for you. Therefore, any reference you make to anything that regard hb is to be disregarded. Now go back to your lap dancing partner. I am sure you two can convince each other of anything. Sleeping with your own worst enemy! L O L

There is no one thing that is real money. Money is a social construction.

money as a social construction has been defined. and federal reserve notes or fiat currency is not real money. i have given the definitions ad nauseum. now whether you choose to believe that i am the standard is arbitrary. if i say that 2+2=4 you will respond in kind " to your standards" however if i ask what two plus two is, without specifying ..errors can result two is not to is not too, and four is not for is not fore. but when i have clearly defined and sourced legally the details which i am specifying, and you still choose to be obtuse....that is your choice. choose freely! stupid nigger.

It's the only real money that the average person relates to and use. All the other bullshit is abstract and change as needed. In any case, as you express it, real money is whatever those in charge and/or control want to call it. This week it is silver, next week it's gold, etc. Again, real money to the average person is what they use to put food on the table, etc. So, fiat currency is as close as most people will get to anything that is real money to them. Anything else is abstract bullshit to them and out of their control.

Gold is just another fiat currency. The only reason gold is valuable is that we believe it is valuable. Ultimately, this gold bubble ends in tears. When and how far gold's price will decline is anyone's guess, but a smart bet is "sooner rather than later." The same as federal reserve notes or fiat currency.

Everyone, cut down on the use of curse words and terms derogatory to any specific group. It is high time we cut down the practice.

BWP, I don't what you intent to do about people that use curse words, but as long as you allow Memrat and a few others to carry on as they do, you need not to key on just the use of curse words. I would like to know what you consider curse words. Because in my view, words such as ASSMONKEY, which is what Memrat is, isn't a curse word. ASSMONKEY 1.Someone that asks stupid questions. 2.A complete idiot.
